Klaus Badelt to score "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Confession: "TMNT" is one of my most-looked-forward-to movies of 2007. Why? Watch the flippin' trailer and you'll see!

I wasn't too excited about the music, though, until this latest news byte came out yesterday: Klaus Badelt is replacing Marco Beltrami. I just really don't like Marco's scores in this genre (case in point: I, Robot). He would have brutalized this and made it too dark and not swashbuckling enough. Seriously, the turtles need a little over-hyped action, not just the dark mood music with overlayed electronics. Badelt isn't my favorite, but in this case, I'm on the badwagon. :-)

The turtles'll be hitting theatres on March 30.

Hmm... gotta say, I would've preferred Beltrami's version. The last thing we need is another crappy "Pirates"/"Poseidon"/"The Recruit" action score from Klaus Badelt. Not really looking forward to this one anymore. Sorry.

Man, if Goldsmith were still around, he could've given this movie a fun action score. His "Teenage Mutant Gremlins" cue is a perfect example of what I mean... :-)
