Elfman is working on "Spidey 3"

Grant Curtis (producer for Spider-Man 3) recently said the following on his blog in response to a reader who asked "Will Christopher Young use [Elfman's] main theme . . . or will he compose a new one?"

"Danny and Chris Young are both working on the picture. We have yet to start actively working on music, but we will start soon."

Sounds like confirmation to me! Danny Elfman IS involved in the project...on some level. So now we know. The question looms now: to what extent will his music be featured in the film?

Christopher Young originally replaced Danny Elfman on the Spider-Man franchise, where Elfman's music (and theme) had already been a staple-mark of the first two films. Until now, though, I hadn't heard any word that Elfman might actually be collaborating (to any degree) with Mr. Young. While I look forward to Young's solo efforts, I still think that Elfman's influences would be an excellent addition.
