Desplat's "Queen" wins award

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association gushed awards on The Queen all night, including for Best Actress, supporting actor, and screenwriter. Composer Alexandre Desplat also got the award for "best music" for his highly original score to the movie.

Again I say, Alexandre is one of the finest up-and-coming (or has he fully "come out") composers in the industry.
