Danny Elfman

I was talking to a friend the other day about the genius of Danny Elfman. The man is so ecclectic; so bizarre...and yet he produces some of the most enchanting tunes. Look at the difference between the soundtrack to Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, for example. He's like the Johnny Depp of film composition; the guy can do everything!

And today, I have a treat for you: his main theme for the video game Fable. It runs a tad over 70 seconds, and is at first-listen: Elfman. Still, notice the Alan Silvestri symphonic bursts here, too. It's an enchanting action cue, with a lot of mystery to it.

Listen to the theme here.
